The 1st XI have won the
Premier Division no less than five times and the Knockout Cup five times
also. The 2nd XI have won their Division eight times
and the 2nd XI Knockout six times.
The Present
HGCC continues to run two teams on a Saturday and
one on a Sunday, plus junior teams. The 1st XI are
defending champions of the Mid-Bucks Premier Division. They are also
defending champions of 1st XI Knock Cup. The 2nd XI play
in Division 1 and were the highest placed 2nd XI in the Mid-Bucks league
system, finishing seventh last season. They were also finalists of last
year’s 2nd XI Knock Cup.
We are always looking for new players of all abilities and ages, and
welcome newcomers to play in our Saturday and Sunday teams. Skill is not
essential, but enthusiasm is compulsory. If you’d like to play, or are not
sure, give one of us a call, our numbers are below.
The Future
HGCC now has a well established junior section,
which has brought through a number of today’s first and second team players.
This year we will be running teams in the Under-14, Under-13 and Under-12 age
brackets and all juniors are very welcome. Enjoyable coaching and practice
sessions are held on a Friday evening, and the bar is open for parents!
Junior matches are played on midweek evenings. Again, if you are interested,
or not sure, give us a call.
Help Us
Obviously we need players but we cannot play
without umpires, scorers, tea ladies and people to prepare the wickets. If
you have any skill or enthusiasm (or both) and can help in any way, please
